35：10但住帐棚，听从我们先祖约拿达的话，照他所吩咐我们的去行。
But we have dwelt in tents； and have obeyed； and done according to all that Jonadab our father manded us。
35：11巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒上此地来，我们因怕迦勒底的军队和亚兰的军队，就说，来吧，我们到耶路撒冷去。这样，我们才住在耶路撒冷。
But it came to pass； when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land； that we said； e； and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans； and for fear of the army of the Syrians： so we dwell at Jerusalem。
35：12耶和华的话临到耶利米说，
Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah； saying；
35：13万军之耶和华以色列的神如此说，你去对犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民说，耶和华说，你们不受教训，不听从我的话吗。
Thus saith the LORD of hosts； the God of Israel； Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem； Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words？ saith the LORD。
35：14利甲的儿子约拿达所吩咐他子孙不可喝酒的话，他们已经遵守，直到今日也不喝酒，因为他们听从先祖的吩咐。我从早起来警戒你们，你们却不听从我。
The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab； that he manded his sons not to drink wine； are performed； for unto this day they drink none； but obey their father's mandment： notwithstanding I have spoken unto you； rising early and speaking； but ye hearkened not unto me。
35：15我从早起来，差遣我的仆人众先知去，说，你们各人当回头，离开恶道，改正行为，不随从事奉别神，就必住在我所赐给你们和你们列祖的地上。只是你们没有听从我，也没有侧耳而听。
I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets； rising up early and sending them； saying； Return ye now every man from his evil way； and amend your doings； and go not after other gods to serve them； and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers： but ye have not inclined your ear； nor hearkened unto me。
35：16利甲的儿子约拿达的子孙能遵守先人所吩咐他们的命，这百姓却没有听从我。
Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the mandment of their father； which he manded them； but this people hath not hearkened unto me：
35：17因此，耶和华万军之神，以色列的神如此说，我要使我所说的一切灾祸临到犹大人和耶路撒冷的一切居民。因为我对他们说话，他们没有听从。我呼唤他们，他们没有答应。
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts； the God of Israel； Behold； I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them： because I have spoken unto them； but they have not heard； and I have called unto them； but they have not answered。
35：18耶利米对利甲族的人说，万军之耶和华以色列的神如此说，因你们听从你们先祖约拿达的吩咐，谨守他的一切诫命，照他所吩咐你们的去行，
And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites； Thus saith the LORD of hosts； the God of Israel； Because ye have obeyed the mandment of Jonadab your father； and kept all his precepts； and done according unto all that he hath manded you：
35：19所以万军之耶和华以色列的神如此说，利甲的儿子约拿达必永不缺人侍立在我面前。
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts； the God of Israel； Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever。

36：1犹大王约西亚的儿子约雅敬第四年，耶和华的话临到耶利米说，
And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah； that this word came unto Jeremiah from the LORD； saying；
36：2你取一书卷，将我对你说攻击以色列和犹大，并各国的一切话，从我对你说话的那日，就是从约西亚的日子起直到今日，都写在其上。
Take thee a roll of a book； and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel； and against Judah； and against all the nations； from the day I spake unto thee； from the days of Josiah； even unto this day。
36：3或者犹大家听见我想要降与他们的一切灾祸，各人就回头，离开恶道，我好赦免他们的罪孽和罪恶。
It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them； that they may return every man from his evil way； that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin。
36：4所以，耶利米召了尼利亚的儿子巴录来。巴录就从耶利米口中，将耶和华对耶利米所说的一切话写在书卷上。
Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah： and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD； which he had spoken unto him； upon a roll of a book。
36：5耶利米吩咐巴录说，我被拘管，不能进耶和华的殿。
And Jeremiah manded Baruch； saying； I am shut up； I cannot go into the house of the LORD：
36：6所以你要去趁禁食的日子，在耶和华殿中将耶和华的话，就是你从我口中所写在书卷上的话，念给百姓和一切从犹大城邑出来的人听。
Therefore go thou； and read in the roll； which thou hast written from my mouth； the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD's house upon the fasting day： and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that e out of their cities。
36：7或者他们在耶和华面前恳求各人回头，离开恶道，因为耶和华向这百姓所说要发的怒气和忿怒是大的。
It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD； and will return every one from his evil way： for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people。
36：8尼利亚的儿子巴录就照先知耶利米一切所吩咐的去行，在耶和华的殿中从书上念耶和华的话。
And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet manded him； reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD's house。
36：9犹大王约西亚的儿子约雅敬第五年九月，耶路撒冷的众民和那从犹大城邑来到耶路撒冷的众民，在耶和华面前宣告禁食的日子，
And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah； in the ninth month； that they proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem； and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem。
36：10巴录就在耶和华殿的上院，耶和华殿的新门口，沙番的儿子文士基玛利雅的屋内，念书上耶利米的话给众民听。
Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD； in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe； in the higher court； at the entry of the new gate of the LORD's house； in the ears of all the people。
36：11沙番的孙子，基玛利雅的儿子米该亚听见书上耶和华的一切话，
When Michaiah the son of Gemariah； the son of Shaphan； had heard out of the book all the words of the LORD；
36：12他就下到王宫，进入文士的屋子。众首领，就是文士以利沙玛，示玛雅的儿子第莱雅，亚革波的儿子以利拿单，沙番的儿子基玛利雅，哈拿尼雅的儿子西底家，和其馀的首领都坐在那里。
Then he went down into the king's house； into the scribe's chamber： and； lo； all the princes sat there； even Elishama the scribe； and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah； and Elnathan the son of Achbor； and Gemariah the son of Shaphan； and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah； and all the princes。
36：13于是米该亚对他们述说他所听见的一切话，就是巴录向百姓念那书的时候所听见的。
Then Michaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard； when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people。
36：14众首领就打发古示的曾孙，示利米雅的孙子，尼探雅的儿子犹底到巴录那里，对他说，你将所念给百姓听的书卷拿在手中到我们这里来。尼利亚的儿子巴录就手拿书卷来到他们那里。
Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah； the son of Shelemiah； the son of Cushi； unto Baruch； saying； Take in thine hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people； and e。 So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand； and came unto them。
36：15他们对他说，请你坐下，念给我们听。巴录就念给他们听。
And they said unto him； Sit down now； and read it in our ears。 So Baruch read it in their ears。
36：16他们听见这一切话就害怕，面面相观，对巴录说，我们必须将这一切话告诉王。
Now it came to pass； when they had heard all the words； they were afraid both one and other； and said unto Baruch； We will surely tell the king of all these words。
36：17他们问巴录说，请你告诉我们，你怎样从他口中写这一切话呢。
And they asked Baruch； saying； Tell us now； How didst thou write all these words at his mouth？
36：18巴录回答说，他用口向我说这一切话，我就用笔墨写在书上。
Then Baruch answered them； He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth； and I wrote them with ink in the book。
36：19众首领对巴录说，你和耶利米要去藏起来，不可叫人知道你们在哪里。
Then said the princes unto Baruch； Go； hide thee； thou and Jeremiah； and let no man know where ye be。
36：20众首领进院见王，却先把书卷存在文士以利沙玛的屋内，以后将这一切话说给王听。
And they went in to the king into the court； but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe； and told all the words in the ears of the king。
36：21王就打发犹底去拿这书卷来，他便从文士以利沙玛的屋内取来，念给王和王左右侍立的众首领听。
So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll： and he took it out of Elishama the scribe's chamber。 And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king； and in the ears of all the princes which stood beside the king。
36：22那时正是九月，王坐在过冬的房屋里，王的前面火盆中有烧着的火。
Now the king sat in the winterhouse in the ninth month： and there was a fire on the hearth burning before him。
36：23犹底念了三四篇（或作行），王就用文士的刀将书卷割破，扔在火盆中，直到全卷在火中烧尽了。
And it came to pass； that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves； he cut it with the penknife； and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth； until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth。
